Playground Committee

WE DID IT!

On November 14, 2023, it was announced that our project received the Municipal Park Grant!

Playground Project Success

The Hudson Elementary school community is committed to encouraging students to achieve their personal and academic best in a joyful learning environment that promotes inclusivity, responsibility, and respect. For some students, the current playground can feel like a space of exclusion, where differences and limitations are reinforced for children of varying abilities.

Building a new space of open, inclusive play with easy-to-navigate surfacing, access from the school to the play space, and a variety of safe, imaginative play features would afford all children in our surrounding community the opportunity to play together with their peers and families.

But we need your help! Through the support of the City of Rock Hill and the Webster Groves School District (WGSD), the Hudson PTO will be applying for a grant for $315,000 to bring this idea to life. In order to apply, we must contribute a percentage of the total and are seeking funds of close to $17,000 by August 2022.  Please consider donating and help us build a safe play space where children of all abilities can play together.
